Our Story

Trusted to deliver the highest-quality civil engineering since 2004

ECC delivers turnkey civil engineering and construction packages across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. Our capability spans enabling works, site preparation, groundworks, roads and sewers, drainage, demolition and brownfield remediation.

Founded by Philip Reed in 2004, ECC has built a strong reputation for quality, dependable delivery and practical expertise. Operating from our Head Office in East Yorkshire, with ECR based in Leeds, the business is led by experienced Managing Directors Ryan Dabbs and Andrew Shepherd who are supported by a strong Board of Directors and Senior Management Team.

We remain selective about the projects we take on, focusing on work that aligns with our standards, values and delivery strengths

Built on practical experience

From the outset, the business has been shaped by a hands-on understanding of construction and what it takes to deliver work safely, efficiently and to the right standard. That practical approach continues to define how we operate today, from early planning and site coordination through to delivery, quality and client communication.

We understand that successful projects rely on more than technical capability alone. They depend on strong leadership, good people, clear processes and a commitment to doing things properly.

Focused on the right projects & partners

ECC has grown by building long-term relationships, maintaining high standards and consistently delivering work clients can rely on. We take a considered approach to the opportunities we pursue, focusing on projects where we can add value and deliver with confidence.

That approach allows us to stay true to what matters most to the business: quality, reliability, safety and a professional standard of delivery.

Looking forward to a smarter & stronger future

As the business continues to evolve, we remain focused on strengthening our operations, investing in people, improving systems and embracing better ways of working.

Safe and reliable site operations lie at the heart of our fleet strategy. In 2023, we invested approximately £1.1 million in new Thwaites and JCB cabbed dumpers, enhancing on-site safety, operator protection and overall efficiency. This investment forms part of our ongoing commitment to continually expand and modernise our fleet with high-performance, safety-focused equipment.

Greater accuracy, efficiency, and consistency on site are delivered through our continued investment in intelligent machine technology. Our fleet includes advanced excavators and dozers equipped with smart systems that improve precision, reduce rework, and boost productivity. These technologies also support operators in achieving reliable results, even in complex or challenging ground conditions.

Through strong leadership, practical innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement, ECC is well placed for the future while staying grounded in the values that have shaped the business since 2004.
